Pleading
The WTO riots in Seattle last year brought photojournalists and reporters from every corner of the globe. I didn't really have any business shooting there, as the Review only covers things on the island, but it was too much of a temptation and I know I would have kicked myself for years to come if I didn't go. The man in the photograph was genuinely pleading with one of the riot gear-clad officers to lay down his shield and baton and join the peaceful protests. The officer didn't take him up on his offer (surprise), and ten seconds later i had my jacket up over my head as tear gas canisters rained down on the protesters. Overall, it was an incredible scene.
