| The Bible is a very special book to me. There are many people who simply refuse to believe it to be anything except fiction. I disagree. If there is a God, and I believe there is, I would think he would provide ways to communicate to his people. I look at the Bible as a handbook to life. If everyone followed the lessons provided in this book there would be peace on earth. There would be no reason not to completly trust your neighbor. Often times while I am reading through the Bible I will see passages that really hit home. When this happens I grab my nearest highlighter and mark the passage. I thought this would help give you an insight about what sticks out in the Bible to me. I hope you enjoy, and maybe something will stick out to you as well. A side note before I start... I have many versions of the Bible. I read from "The Book" the most. It is the Bible translated into a more understandable text. I just find it easier to understand and read. Oh by the way, if you see writing like this... it is my commentary. Proverbs 2:12 Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose speech is corrupt. Proverbs 2:20 Follow the steps of good men instead, and stay on the paths of the righteous. Proverbs 3:3 Never let loyalty or kindness get away from you! Wear them like a necklace; write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will gain a good reputation. Proverbs 3:30 Don't make accusations against someone who hasn't wronged you. Proverbs 22:6 Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it. Proverbs 27:2 Don't praise yourself; let others do it! Proverbs 27: 6 Wounds from a friend are better than kisses from an enemy. Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 28:9 The prayers from a person who ignores the law are despised. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Here is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is the duty of every person. 14 God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad. Isaiah 2:2 In the last days, the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem will become the most important place on earth. (For those of you who may not know, the temple that this passage is talking about is the site in which the Muslim mosque "The Dome of the Rock" is now located. The Dome of the Rock sits upon the original Temple Mount. On the Western side of the Temple mount sits a wall called "The Wailing Wall". This is where the Jewish Faith comes to worship each day. Go grab this mornings paper. I guarantee you will find news that will directly relate to the on-going conflict between these two faiths. September 11... yep. For some other information on the Temple Mount click HERE) Isaiah 2:19 When the Lord rise to shake the earth, his enemies will crawl with fear into holes in the ground. They will hide in caves in the rocks from the terror of the Lord and his majesty. Isaiah 25:4 But to the poor, O'Lord, you are a refuge from the storm. To the needy in distress, you are a shelter from the rain and the heat. |
