It had been but a week since the eruption. A week since the Tealons and Jaridians had merged only to die moments later in the eruption. A week since Liam Kincaid had died.

Renee stood behind his grave stone, tears streaming down her pale face. She hadnt eaten or slept for more than 1 hour a night, and then barely that. Mourners stood in front of her, from both Tealon services and the Resistance. They had put aside their differences and hate to mourn for a great man in both their views. The leader of the resistance, the man who would give his life to save a Tealon without thought.

She had been the final one to give the eulogy; she had been the last one to speak of him to the others of the man who he truly was. She had told them of where he came and from whom he came. Of all he had hidden about his true species and heritage. Though there was so much that they will never know. Though she had not finished just yet, there was one more thing needed to be said, to be done.

Renee Palmer walked up to the ground next to the casket and knelt over it. She placed an Irish rune and a piece of paper with a Kimeran death prayer on and bowed her head.

Goodbye Liam Kincaid, I will always love you. Renee said in a soft but loud voice. It was clear even through the sobs and salty tears, truth visible through the pain and anguish. A soft but bright light appeared near her, what seemed like a hand came from it and touched her on her shoulder.

I am not truly gone. You should know that shocked faces looked at him, Renee turned to see the face she never dreamed shed see inside the light.

      Liam?

      Yeah, its me

      How? Youre dead

I suppose I am. But not in the true sense. You know I spoke to Hagel, and he was dead.

You were unconscious or dead. Im, were awake and alive Renee had stood up by now, questions and love shining in her bright eyes. She reached a hand out to touch him, and was surprised when it went strait through. Her face relayed shock, shock that was felt by the forgotten spectators.

Kimera never truly die. Tealons dont grieve when one of them dies because their presence is still felt in the commonality, they never TRULY die, and as long as there is a Tealon others will know that. But it is so much more with Kimera, for were further evolved

Kimera are beings of true and pure energy, though Im also human. After death, anyone who is or ever has been part Kimera, how do I put it becomes fully Kimera in body. But their sole and self-remains as it always has been. And the power of the Kimera after death is greater than anything else in any universe.

Youre not human anymore? Renee asked, a smile on her face. She knew that hed hated giving up his Kimera heritage, though a bit had stayed with him through everything. A part had remained in his soul where nothing, not even DNA, could touch it.

Not in body. None of us has ever had anything to come back for after the death of our species, and they dared not come back to face the Tealons when Hagel was here. And when I needed them most visions and visits when unconscious, or dead, were enough but.

You came back for somethingwhat? Why? Renee was confused, if his own father never truly came back but in spirit, why was Liam back? He had no family here but a monster that did not care. A monster so past redemption he couldnt save himself if he tried.

For earth, for the Resistance and those who served the Tealons that have been left behind. And for you. With that last word, Liam changed himself into matter, much as the Tealons had changed their faces into their faade of flesh visible to humans.

Liam, a tear rolling down his cheek hugged his arms around the woman in front of him, kissing her hair as if he were her lover. The moment watched by everyone, even the reporters that had started to gather.

I am dead. My body has died and is gone, will become worm food soon. He smiled but my spirit goes on. And for Kimera that means so much more. It means Im still alive, but my home has changed.

My home is no longer this place, this dimension. Its in a place best described as the commonality, a different dimension. Whatever ya feel like calling it. But I can come to this place; I can live in this place. But I can only stay if Im wanted. Not by any physical law, but by the law of my people. Liam stated, lifting her face to face him. She smiled slightly, and pulled off having this gleam in her eye that had been sorely missed.

I, Renee Palmer, temporary leader of the resistance here by declare that the spirit and ghost, however it may actually be, is wanted in this world for as long as I live. Liam laughed at that and put his arm around her. Together they walked off towards the near-by church and their lair beneath.

Temporary leader of the resistance huh? Who gave you the right to that, last time I looked I was the leader

With that people who had been mourner minutes ago completed the funeral. Liam was still dead; he was back in his soul, as an angel one person had said. So still they mourned for who he had been, but were glad that he had not been fully lost to the world.

A glowing Liam held onto Renees hand as he glided across the plane that seemed barren to her. She looked around hard, and saw other glowing figures. As she looked, they became easier to see. And as they became easier to see, it was easier to see they were looking at her.

Renee, this is the afterlife, the commonality, my home.

Son, why have you brought her here? A gentle voice said and they turned to see another glowing figure, that of Hagel.

Father, this is Renee Palmer. A key player in the resistance, one of those who helped me complete my destiny, and more importantly my great friend

She is human, has no right to be here

Aye, leave the lass alown. Shes as much right ere as I do. So, yer the famous Renee?

      Hello mom.

Famous? Mom? Renee asked. And so life continued till the death of Miss Palmer. Palmer later joined the Kimera in their after life, and was one of only two humans to ever do so in all time. Her and Liam remained great friends who are very close, but as of yet nothing significantly more has come of it. They claim to be taking it slowly. They would be right, overly so.
