| First of all, go back and look at the title of this rant again. You see it? Good. Now hum it to yourself to the tune of Bon Jovis You Give Love a Bad Name. Thats funny, right? Yes it is.
Okay, on with the rant. So today is the thirtieth anniversary of the original release of Star Wars. And I have to say that as much as I love that movie, and I do think its the greatest film ever made, this simply isnt that big a deal. And it definitely SHOULDNT be that big a deal. So why are people losing their fucking minds over this? People going all gaga over the birthday of their sacred trilogy is just nuts. Its a fucking MOVIE people, not a person, so it doesnt have a birthday. It has a release date, or rather it HAD a release date. Thats over now. And whats with all these places having screenings of all six movies to celebrate? That doesnt even make any sense, even within the twistedness of this idea. Its not the anniversary of the other five movies, so what is the point of that? Its stupidity within stupidity, and its pretty fucking sad. This would be longer, but its simply not that big a deal, so Im done with it. |
