| Nice guys really DO finish last | |||||||||
| HOME | BACK TO RANTS | ||||||||
| Im a nice guy. No, really. Stop laughing, that wasnt meant as a joke. Im serious. Sigh. Fine, Ill give you a minute. Waiting Still waiting Okay, better now? Can I get on with this? Thank you. As I was saying, I really am a nice guy, most of the time. As long as people dont push me too far. But then, thats true of pretty much everybody on planet Earth, so why should it be any different for me?
Heres the problem though. Youve heard the saying Nice guys finish last? Well, I can confirm for you that this is pretty much true, if a little bit on the soft side. What someone REALLY meant to say was, Nice guys finish last, but they dont even get a chance to finish until theyve been assraped a few dozen times by a nearsighted Asian ex-con with a baseball bat wrapped in 20 grit sandpaper. Thats a much more accurate description of a nice guys life. And thats what I go through on pretty much a daily basis. I wake up, when I get the chance to sleep, and try to help someone with something. Then later on, I bend over and take it like an inmate, because I know thats what I get for being nice to people. The worst thing is, I cant stop. I have been this way since I was a little kid. I know whats going to happen. I know Im going to get walked on, or blown off or whatever, but I still have to be nice to people. Does that make me an idiot? Maybe it does. I wont argue that point. A lot of people feel they can get away with shit, and then drop some lame-ass excuse and everything will be okay because Im a nice guy. Nice people get taken advantage of. This happens all the time too. Well do things for people when they ask us, but then sometime later when we need something, these people are never around. Not that I do things for people just so I can get them to do things for me. Thats NOT why I do it. Its just my nature. I dont do it just to see what I can get out of it. I actually LIKE helping people out when I can. Its the taking it in the ass part later that I could do without, but unfortunately the two seem to be perpetually linked. But just because Im a nice guy that doesnt mean I wont get a little peeved when someone I go out of my way to do something for blows me off. Cuz I know damn well all of these people would hate it if it was done to them. Not that I could ever intentionally do that to someone, because Im a nice guy. Now youll have to excuse me, because its been a few hours and I need to go bend over because Im sure I was nice to someone recently. |
