| As I sit here in my living room writing this, (not typing since my computer is currently being upgraded,) I am watching the election results and I am somewhat dismayed over something I was wrong about. Okay, two things I was wrong about. John Kerry not winning the Presidential Election, which only bodes ill for our country. But more importantly, something I have been saying over and over for years - that given information and the right to run their own lives, the American people will make good decisions. Obviously I was WAY wrong about that, huh? I shouldn't include ALL Americans in this catagory though. That's not fair to the ones that did vote to defeat Bush a second time. But the people living in the southern states, and the ones in the "Bible Belt?" They are idiots. They tried to rearrange what the important issues in this election were, overlooking the more important ones for the feel-good ones. Well, actually they didn't only try, they succeeded, didn't they? Morons. So now, because of these idots who couldn't see the real important issues, we have four more years of the same dismal shit to look forward to. Yeah, THAT ought to help me sleep tonight. I think it's going to be a long night for ANYONE with an IQ above single digits. See, the problem was that these people in the middle and southern parts of our country tried to make the most important issues in this election about religion. THEY WEREN'T! Dubya and his campaigners were trying to make this election about religion, and morals, because he DOES NOT HAVE ANSWERS FOR ANY OF THE REAL PROBLEMS FACING US!!! The most important issues are not whether gay people can get married. It's not whether we should allow prayer in schools or all believe in the same version of a mase-up diety. The big issues were things like fucking JOBS! The people here need 'em, and Bush doesn't know how to get them. Another issue more important than gay marriages? How about the debacle in Iraq? First, we had no business going there. Other than the Bush family's personal vendetta against Saddam Hussien. I don't know, but I think I heard once that Saddam said Bush Sr. had a small dick, and the whole family has taken it personally ever since. So much so that we are averaging about four dead soldiers a day over there since we invaded that nation. With no plan for getting our children home. All so we can supposedly force our system of values on other people. And that's what he's trying to do here at home, with the help of the nimrods in the middle and southern states. They are all deeply religious, God-fearing people, and believe we ALL should be as well. Well, FUCK YOU Jethro, I ain't buying it. And there's NOTHING you can say to make me change my mind. If you want to believe this shit, fine. That's all well and good. But when you start pushing that shit on me we have a problem. Home of the free my ass. And what's this shit with Bush not being able to seperate his faith from his job? That right there PROVES he was not the best candidate for the job. That's what a President is supposed to do, for chrissakes! John Kerry stood on national television and told people what his personal values are, and then told us that in runing the country, he had to keep those PERSONAL values in check, and do what is right for the majority. That's what a makes a good leader - someone who will do the right thing, even if they don't personally like it. Bush basically stood there and told us all that he would do what the voices in his head told him to do. And the middle and south of our country said, "Yeah, that's the guy for the job!" Of course, these are the same people who are constantly claiming to be abducted by aliens and probed anally, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I have heard some people say they voted for Bush because he was more of a 'regular guy.' Are these people fucking kidding? He couldn't be more unlike the majority of people in this country if he had seven fucking heads! Dubya was born into the upper one percent. He is a rich brat who bought a presidency in 2000, and people were too stupid to realize that he needed to go. NOW. He has lived his entire life in privelidge, and now all of a sudden on the campaign trail he drives an F-150 and wears a cowboy hat and he's just a regular guy? Bullshit. Only truly stupid people will think that. Some people voted Bush because of some silly idea of not changing leaders in the middle of a war. Well, considering we never should have been involved in this war in the first place, that excuse doesn't hold water. When we are involved in a war that was based completely and totally on LIES from the current administration, then YES! We DO have to change our leaders to end that war. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that our. Apparently though, it takes more than single digits worth of IQ. Now, I shouldn't say that all the people in the middle and southern parts of our country are blindingly stupid. Just 51 percent of them. Yeah, I know some Republican spinners are saying that Bush took 81 percent of the counties in the US, but he still only had 51 percent of the popular vote. Enough to win, yes, but not to call it a landslide. The one positive thing I can say for Bush is that he won with grace, not going overboard and, well...being Bush. Too bad a lot of his supporters aren't acting the same way. And now with him winning the popular vote this time, some of his supporters are whining about "having to endure four years of Democrats whining about Bush stealing the election in 2000." We are hearing things about 'getting over it', and such. Two problems with that; one, he DID steal the fucking election in 2000, losing the popular vote and only winning the electoral vote because of a fuck-up in Florida - where his brother is Governor. So it's time Republicans 'get over' that. He was handed the Presidency without winning the election, which is stealing. Second, your guy won so the other 49 percent of the country is supposed to just 'get over' what we believe? For four years Bush has NOT been the right person for the job, and for four more years he will NOT be the right person for the job. He simply isn't smart enough, and he doesn't have the country's best interests at heart. He has the one percent's best interests at heart. 49 percent of us realize that, so we voted against him. I'm NOT going to change what I believe simply because the election didn't turn out for the best. All I can say now is that we deserve whatever happens to us. Osama bin Laden has publicly stated that he WILL attack the US again, (although he still may be more talk than action - as he has been for three years now.) He has said that he will concentrate on states that voted for Bush. Now, I'm not saying anyone should have changed their vote out of fear of this guy, but it should have been enough to get people to think. Dubya has NOT been able to 'find' bin Laden, but that's because he hasn't really been looking. He is NOT fighting his 'war on terror,' he is picking up where dear old dad left off. Bin Laden for him was a good excuse to get into the Middle East again to go after Saddam. That's all it's ever been about. So if bin Laden attacks our country again, well, we deserve it. We had our chance to make things right, and we blew it. We also deserve whatever happens to our economy. Bush has no clue how to fix the problem. He thinks tax cuts to his rich buddies are a good idea despite the fact that nothing good has come of it yet. This has been stated many times, but apparently it still hasn't sunk in, so it needs to be said again. Bush took the largest budget surplus in our history and in less than four years turned it into the largest budget deficit in our history. That is a fact. It's not open to interpretation. He is a financial idiot who can only do this country more harm. I also fear for the future of freedom in this country. Dubya is pro-censorship. He has shown that he believes everyone in the nation should think and believe the same way and things he does. He has shown surprise when people disagreed with him on something. For some reason he thinks that everyone either does, or should hold the same Christian values he does. And most of us DO hold a lot of those values, but that's because they aren't 'Christian Values', they simply good values and some Christians have tried to pretend you have to be one of them to understand and hold these values. Yeah, right. He wants to ban adult entertainment. Now, BILLIONS of dollars per year means that it's not just a handful of people who partake of this entertainment. But Dubya doesn't care. He doesn't like it, (so he says,) so he wants it gone. He wants to amend the US Constitution to ban all same-sex marriages. He wants to do this because the way things are worded now, it's NOT illegal for people of the same gender to marry. Some states have tried to change that, which is all bullshit, and Dubya wants to make it a Federal Crime. Y'know, I may not be in favor of gay people, and maybe I don't understand their choices at all, but they're still people. And since it's not hurting me in any way, I don't understand the fucking problem. Oh yeah, that's right. Supposedly THE BIBLE states it's wrong, so it must really be wrong, huh? And the stupidity keeps mounting. As a side note, it's amazing how many people don't realize the real reason for the anti-gay sentiment. Some years before those bunch of guys got together to write the bible, the Greek armies were conquering everyone just about. They were also fucking everyone, just about. The soldiers were not discriminatory about it. They would bone men, women, girls, boys, a parakeet - it didn't matter. Attaching a stigma to gay was a matter of propogating the species. If the soldiers continued to fuck little boys, new soldiers wouldn't be born. It was never because God said it was bad. It was because we needed to keep the population growing, and religion and other people who want to force their morals and ideals on everyone else simply took this a peerverted it to say something else, while burying the true origins. Wow. Religion lying about something. You don't see that all the time, do you? All in all, 99 percent of us are going to be worse off in four years than we are now. It's a shame some people have to be burned more than once to learn some hard lessons, but that's our society for you. Maybe we do deserve to have our country fall apart to the point where it's not even possible to repair it anymore. And I will take great satisfaction in sitting back and saying "I told you so" to each and every idiot who voted for Dubya. Assuming that during his regime the right to have an opinion other than the one officially sanctioned by the state isn't made into a crime. |
