| BACK TO RANTS | ||||||||||
| NOTE: This rant was originally published on my old site, which has been defunct for several years now. Of course, other than the timing of the letter I mention, everything else is still 100% accurate. Read and enjoy. I recently received in the mail a questionnaire from my local court offices. I have to fill it out and send it back to them to see if I am eligible to be called for jury duty. Considering my views on the legal system in this country this is pretty damn funny. A lot funnier than the joke being played on all of us by the courts. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm NOT a big fan of our legal system. I refuse to call it our justice system because any time justice is received in an American courtroom it's the result of pure luck. The system's not designed to promote justice. It's designed so that soulless assholes can rape people for anything and everything they have in order to find a loophole that they already know exists. It's designed to be manipulated by the best liar, plain and simple. What the hell would I do on a jury anyway? If some guy says something that makes him sound guilty, but his professional liar persuades the guy on the bench wearing the black dress that he shouldn't have said that, and dress-boy tells me I'm supposed to ignore it? What the hell is that all about? What, I'm supposed to let a guilty person off just because a question was asked at the wrong time? Or it was worded improperly? What the fuck is that? There's also the possibility that if I have to sit on a jury that I'M going to end up getting in trouble, simply because sometimes I have trouble keeping control of my tongue. The court tries to enforce a lot of things that I don't believe in. Things like they want me to censor the way I talk. Well FUCK YOU! This is the way I talk every day. If you don't like it that's too goddamn bad. You asked me to come down here. I certainly didn't ask for this 'privilege'. In fact, I'm losing money by doing this shit. Okay, my salary at work will be the same, but I have to go downtown and pay for parking, and the fucking twelve dollars a day you get for jury duty will not cover my parking fees. And what happens if I get selected for some trial that actually drags out for some weeks or months? I'm supposed to go there and keep pretending about a system I do not believe in in ANY way? I don't think so. People ask me why I'm so down on our legal system. I'm thinking it's because of my past experiences with different branches of it. Some people accuse me of having a bad attitude when it comes to cops. Gee, ya think? When you've been harassed for no reason other than the way you look by the bastards as many times as I have, it's difficult to have a positive attitude towards them. I do realize that there are some very good cops out there, but there are far more criminals in uniform. It's a shame that some people are too nave to see that. If you wanna know why I hate the courts so much, all you have to do is go back and read the previous essay I did about them here. I say the word 'Justice' should be removed from every courthouse in the country. Our system's values are all screwed up. I have actually seen people get a stiffer sentence for stealing $500.00 from a 7-11 than for murder. Of course, there are the varying DEGREES of murder, which I don't believe in either. That's all just part of the game that the liars play, and it's all bullshit. Either someone is guilty of murder or they aren't. If there are mitigating circumstances then they are not guilty, simple as that. And what is all this shit about bargaining to get a reduced sentence. If the cops were out doing their fucking jobs instead of harassing me when I've done nothing wrong, then maybe they would be catching the other criminals, (the ones NOT wearing uniforms,) and they wouldn't have to do this whole plea-bargain thing. They might be a little more respected too, but I don't think that's a major concern for most of them. As long as they have their supplemental income, that's all they care about. Some of them might even be a little more in shape if they were out catching criminals instead of infesting the fuckin' donut shops. Just something for the boys in blue to think about. But the fact is the more money you have, the more you can get away with. You can hire a better liar, one with more skill manipulating the truth, and if you have enough green, you can get away with anything. Just ask O.J. and I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you. And anyone who thinks he's completely innocent fuck you, you simple-minded cretin. If he's completely innocent then Britney Spears really IS a virgin, just like Madonna. But the system is very careful, and it watches out for itself all the time. All you have to do is look at the whole Rodney King incident to see that. The four cops gleefully beat another human being with their clubs, even after he was handcuffed. This was just ridiculous, and the fact that the trial took more than seven minutes is a testimony to how big a joke our legal system really is. And the cops got what? A slap on the wrist? What the hell is with that? You couldn't have manufactured more definite proof than what they had, and they still let them pretty much get away with it. Yeah, I know two of them went to jail for a little while, but all for of them should have been imprisoned for a lot longer. They should still be there. What they did was publicly trample someone else's human rights. Don't get me wrong here, Rodney King is no hero and should also not be let off the hook. He was driving under the influence of, well I can't actually remember what it was, but he was on something so he WAS a criminal. But he certainly didn't deserve the treatment that he got. I remember watching some 'expert' on CNN one night after work, and the interviewer was asking him about the tape. He was 'explaining' why the officers continued to beat Mr. King saying things like, "See that? He twitched right there, so they had to subdue him." OF COURSE he twitched you fucking jackass! There were two officers still had their stun guns attached to him pumping electricity through him! You'd twitch too ya fuckin' nimrod. And don't think I'm letting off all the other cops who just stood around watching, not lifting a finger to help a man who was basically being tortured in public. At the very least they should have all been summarily fired and never allowed to work in law enforcement again. Not even as a fuckin' night security guard at a mall in Peoria. Not long after I turned 16 I quit high school. Seemed like a good idea at the time, and y'know what? It was. I'm not gonna sit here and limply advocate staying in school because unless you want to be a professional Jeopardy contestant there isn't much point to high school past 9th grade. But the almost non-existent merits or high school are not what I was discussing here, are they? No, the point of mentioning that was as soon as I quit school I got myself a job. I wasn't going to just sit around or something. But I didn't yet have a car so I had to walk to work every day. This didn't really bother me all that much, until one Monday some chowderhead with a badge stopped me wondering why I wasn't in school. Now I was a little bit miffed, since I was gonna be late for work now, but he was just doing his job I figured, and my boss did understand, so it wasn't that big a deal. Until two days later when the same cretin with the single-digit IQ stops me again and asks the same thing. I asked him if he was joking and he made it clear that he wasn't. But it gets better. The very next day he did the exact same thing! I swear I am not making this shit up, that the cops in Fairport really are either that stupid or that crooked. The same sort of thing happened over and over again once I started driving. I have had four Camaros and cops see a guy with long hair in a sports car and they assume he's up to no good. I was also working night shifts so I would be driving home at three in the morning and I would routinely get stopped for no reason and just plain harassed. Some extremely weak-minded people say that's how the cops manage to catch people who really are criminals. They say that we all have to make some personal sacrifices for our free society. They say this because they don't have to go through it, not the way I have had to. When I was a teenager, these pinheaded pricks were always harassing the band I was in, even though we weren't actually doing anything wrong. But because of the way we looked, these assholes with badges refused to believe that. Meanwhile the majority of the football team was going around town, high and drunk out of their minds, stealing stuff and beating up kids in the lower grades, and the cops though they were just swell. No matter what anyone says, cops in general are worthless pieces of shit. Our legal system is a farce. It's nothing but a bad joke being perpetrated on an unsuspecting American public. And the punchline just ISN'T funny. It does help to keep that in mind when having dealings with any members of the legal system. People say even if it's not perfect, it's better than all the other systems out there in other countries. What they mean is it's better than any CURRENT system. But there was one that was better. Anarchy. |
