So, maybe here I could be like listen, here's the best music in the world, so accept that your Simple Plan and Creed sucks and go away (ha, I really don't hate those, or do I? ). However, I am just going to ramble a bit about some of my favorites and why I like them so much. To each their own, right? uh huh.

So, for awhile I would tell you that I idolized Chris Cornell. I mean, how could a person not? First of all, his name is all over the credits of all the Soundgarden albums, including the lyrics and most the music. His voice is incredible. His lyrics are puzzling and not easily read. However, you get it. (That is, if there is something to get, because I have read interveiws where he says that he really did not know where the exact points formed for his songs came from or concluded to be (such as
Black Hole Sun)). If you look at a band like Cold, like Meghan says, its like hes slapping you in the face with exactly what the point is. Damn, life sucks. There is no awe in that. However, Chris Cornell seems to call upon much deeper ideas with both his pained voice and lyrics to match. I went to see Audioslave this summer and when Cornell sang by himself, first playing acoustic, and than with no music at all, it was amazing. I really like Blind Melon. I saw them on VH1 the other day on the One Hit Wonder list. I suppose thats a possibility considering that song
No Rain is the only to make top forty. I definently think they were more than that. I guess they fit somewhere between the grunge and jam band era. However, they definntly have a style of their own. I don't like all of their music, but they definently made some great songs. Nico's point was to bring some of those together in honor of Hoon so thats a sure bet. I guess they just seem to have a lot of real. If you haven't really heard anything, download Change, or All that I Need.

I like the Meat Puppets. They are entertaining. Its like why you listen to gangster rap, but with awesome guitar riffs in the background. Alot of their songs are sort of sing song-ish. Or at least the ones I listen too. And they make contradicting statements nivana-style, or actually the other way around. I like them. Download Mindless Idiot and Lake of Fire.

Also, Alice in Chains are another one of my favorites.

So growing up, you get some of your parents taste. I really like Eric Clapton. Before, I used to just like it because it was my father's favorite. Now, though he is an amazing guitarist and when in the right mood I like to listen to him. I also like the Allman Brothers and Stevie Ray Vaughn mostly because of the guitar and just the familiarity of listening to it.

I also like Blues Traveler. I just recently started listening to their music. I like the thoaty voices and the guitar parts. I would like to see them live.

Our Lady Peace. Lyrics are amazing. Expecially older lyrics. Happiness is not a fish you can catch. Album full of good lyrics.

I saw Widespread Panic a few months ago. They were amazing. They were so talented. Just watching them jam on stage was awesome. I don't think that I would ever listen to them regularly. However, they are and were definently the ideal jam band. ?????

The White Stripes.
