Chapter 2
�A daughter? You have a daughter? When did that happen?� Nick asked. �No, butthead. Of course I don�t have a kid. It�s not true, it�s obviously a lie. This kind of thing has happened before. Girl�s I�ve never even seen before coming up to me saying I�m their baby�s daddy. It�s nothing new, really.� He said looking at the other men as they stared at him.
�Yeah AJ, I mean fans do that stuff all the time, but I don�t remember any of them have the department of social services call you, or any of us for that matter.� Brian said looking at him and then over at Kevin. �What did you tell them? And what do they want you to do now?� Kevin asked looking serious.
�Well they said I should take an DNA test, and I agreed. I told them now would be fine, so there waiting for me down at there clinic.� He said as he stood. �They want you to take a DNA test? This sounds really serious AJ...and why are they calling you? Why wasn�t the mother of this child on the phone instead. Gezz, who is the mother?� Howie asked.
�I don�t know any of this info D, all I know is that they want to do this test and so I agreed. The mom probably just wants to get me for child support or something. This whole thing is crazy and a complete misunderstanding, and I�m just going down there to clear it up. Everything will be fine.� He said calmly.
�What? You didn�t ask who the mom was? You didn�t ask why they were calling you instead of her? Why didn�t you ask any questions? Why didn�t you ask who these people were?� Brian asked him. �It all just sounds really weird, that�s all. I mean these people just calling you out of the blue one day. I mean if you are the dad, why would they wait nine years to tell you? And they didn�t even mention the mother�s name...something just doesn�t sound right with this at all. What exactly did they say AJ?� Kevin asked really interested.
�Look I�m not trying to dissect this thing like you are Kevin. Don�t try to make it into a big deal when it�s not. They might have got my name mixed up with someone else or something, who knows? All I know is that they have the wrong guy and although I love kids and all, I defiantly don�t want any of my own at the moment.�
�But they didn�t say anything else? They gave you no other information?�
�They asked if I knew I had a nine year old daughter and I said no of course. Then they said my name was on the birth certificate. I told them they were wrong because I didn�t have any kids and they said they would be willing to give an DNA test. Then they asked if now was a good time, and I said yeah.�
�Don�t you find it weird they didn�t give any other info?�
�Well, wasn�t really thinking about it at the moment. I was mostly thinking about how stupid they were going to feel when they realize they have the wrong guy.� AJ laughed. Kevin just rolled his eyes and shook his head a little.
�So I guess this means you guys are going to have to catch the flick without me.� AJ said grabbing his jacket. �You want me to go along with you or something?� Howie asked him. �D, I�m a big boy. Believe me, I�ll be fine. You make it sound like I�m going to the clinic to find out weather I�m going to live or die. I�m not five years old, doctors don�t scare me too much. I think I�ll live.� Nick couldn�t help but to let out a small laugh at that. That was AJ, always turning serious issues into jokes.
�Whatever, we�ll catch you later then.� Howie said as he stood and the rest of the guys followed his lead. They all said there goodbyes as they exited the house parting, AJ toward his Expedition and the rest of the guys toward�s Brian�s SUV.
