Chapter2

The next day went as usual, they started work at 1:00 in the afternoon sharp. Their first job was one of the local school cafeterias. Most of the Deaker Janitors did schools in the mornings and afternoons. There was just no getting around it, unless somehow you did, and was put at some office cafeteria. There duties included wiping down the tables, sweeping and mopping the large floors, dumping the garbage cans, and then cleaning the small kitchen that was in back.

Although it might have seemed like a simple job, it was very grueling and toilsome. By the look at some of the other workers, you could see just how hard the work really was.
You could see it in there faces and in there eyes. Their eyes had no spark in them, they just looked tired. They looked worn down like they had all had a really hard life.
It wasnt the thing Destiny or Macy hoped for in there future. But right now it was the only thing that was providing income.

Besides them, Perry was the only other young person that worked at Deaker. Everyone else was at least 33 or over. Knowing that they werent the only young people there made Macy and Destiny feel better about their situation. They usually spent there break with him.

Break was  four oclock at Deakers, and it lasted for an half an hour. After there break was over they had more work to do. But this day was different, they didnt head over to the Bushes company. They went to the Dozer studio with Herold. When they got there they went through all the rooms as Herold explained to them what had to be done and who was going to be in charge of what.

After going over everything he left them to get to work. Macy and Destiny were left upstairs while Perry did the downstairs area. Destiny wiped mirrors on the wall in the hallway as Macy mopped. I thought people were actually going to be working here when we came. Destiny said as she continued to wipe. You didnt think they were going to allow us to watch famous people record songs did you? Macy said with a giggle.

No, not famous people...any people.

Destiny I could have told you it was going to be closed while we cleaned.

UGH!

What?

Im just so tired of this job...my life. Im tired of everything.

Oh no...is someone starting to feel sorry for themself again? Oh no this can not be.

Shut up. Destiny retorted.

Uh oh, she cursed, she must be mad.

Cursed? Destiny questioned.

Yeah, the last time I head you even say the word shut up was like forever ago.

Destiny giggled a little. You have to loosen up. Have some fun. Macy said as she splashed her a little with her mop. Eww, grows Macy. Dont do that. Destiny responded. And just whos going to stop me, hu? She said doing it again, slinging it hard this time. Im warning you Macy, stop.

Na, nana, boo, boo you cant get me. Macy sung as she put her mop in the bucket and slung it at Destiny hard.

Ahhh! Gross! Im going to get you. Destiny retorted as she sprayed her bottle of glass cleaner at Macy. As she came closer Macy stepped back and slung her mop. Macy slowly backed up down the hall then made a dash for it as Destiny chased her.

As she ran her leg hit the bucket causing it to turn over and spill water everywhere. When the girls came back up the hall, Macy noticed all the water. She slowed down and slid in it, while she laughed. Destiny slowed down but slipped and tripped backwards falling on her back and hitting her head on the ground.

Destiny, Oh my God. Are you okay? Macy asked as she leaned over her friend. Destiny didnt move, her eyes stayed closed. Oh no, no. Destiny, wake up come on wake up. Macy said as she bent down over her friend in the huge puddle of water and patted the sides of her face a little.

What are you guys doing up here? I can here you all the way down stairs? Perry asked laughing as he entered the hallway. Somethings wrong with Destiny, I cant get her to wake up. Macy told him as she looked at him all the way at the end. What? What happened? Perry asked as he ran down the hall sliding as he reached the water.

She fell and hit her head on the ground. The red haired girl said slapping her face a little harder now. Destiny come on girl, come on, wake up sweetie. Come on. She repeated. Destinys eyes fluttered open. Oh thank god. Are you okay? How do you feel? She asked.
Och, my head hurts. What happened? She asked as she sat up. You fell. Perry told her. You blacked out, for almost 2 minutes I think. You should probably get to a doctor. Macy said concerned.

No, Im fine. I just got a bump on the head. Its nothing serious. I feel fine now.

Are you sure, you didnt look so good? Perry questioned. Im good guys just a little woozy, thats all. Help me get up. She told them.

They got on both sides of her and helped her to her feet. You sure your okay? Can you stand on your own?The blond guy asked her. Yeah, Im fine. See, Im standing. Ugh...my back is all wet. Yuck! She said feeling her back with her hand. Her legs wobbled as she took a step forward.

You should sit down. Perry took her arm. Take a seat in the control room. Get off your feet for a while and rest. Macy told her.

No I cant, what if Harold sees me sitting down on the job? Ill be okay, really. She protested.

Itll be fine, just tell Harold your dusting off the knobs and stuff. Take a seat in there Ill get you a clean shirt from the van and Ill clean this mess up. Just rest okay. Dont worry about anything. Macy told her.

Destiny put her hand on her head as she went inside the room and sat in the soft chair. She looked at the microphone behind the glass as she looked into the recording room. She felt as if everything was spinning a little, but at the same time she thought it was cool to be sitting in an actual studio control room. Macy came in two minutes later and handed her a shirt. I always keep an extra shirt in my bag. Its not a work shirt but Harold wont care. No one is here anyway. Change and rest. She said as she shut the door. Destiny changed her shirt and sat in the comfortable chair. She looked at all the knobs and buttons on the table. Then she laid her head down on the desk, slowly closed her eyes, and rested.
