Chapter 8: Forever
After they picked up Garfield and took him home, AJ and Jessica went in a few shopping stores. She was looking for something to wear to the party that night. They then stopped by a few jewelry stores so she could find a necklace to match her ensemble. They stopped by a Starbucks before going home. As Jessica drank frappachino and spat out mindless chatter about the party, the decor in their house, and her friends, AJ went over in his head what he wanted to do. He wanted to make it perfect and he wanted to make sure it was right. �Jessica...� He started. Trying to find the rest of the words in his mind. He then went to grab her hand. As he did so he knocked her frappachino into her lap. �Ahh.� She screeched. �Oh, I�m sorry baby. Here let me.� AJ said bending down whipping her skirt off. �I can�t believe you. Oh, I love this skirt, it�s just ruined.� She said in a small voice like she was about to cry. �It�s okay, not that much got on you. Most of it fell on the floor.� He said as he continued to dab her skirt with napkins. �Oh never mind. It�s okay, I suppose I can get a new one right? It only coast $300. So, what were you about to say anyway?� She asked with a sad face. �Well...� He started as he reached into his pocket. �I was just going to ask you if you would like to marry me.�
�OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD, I�m getting married!� Jessica yelled at the top of her lungs as she stood out her chair. Everyone turned to look at her. �AJ McLean just asked me to marry him!� She yelled again. �Oh I don�t know what to say. I mean I do, yes, yes, I will marry you.� She said starting to cry now. As AJ stood she wrapped her arms around him and held him in a strong embraced that seemed to last forever and also seemed to cut part of his circulation off. �Oh wow, oh wow, let me see the ring.� She said staring down at the little gray box he held in his hand. �It�s not much, I just picked it up while we were in one of those jewelry stores when you weren't looking. But later on we can get something better baby.� He said opening the box. The large princess cut diamond stared back at her as it shined and sparkled. The ring had 2 small ruby sets on both sides of the diamond that sat perfectly in the middle. �Oh, it has rubies she said sobbing now.�
�Yeah, I know how much you like rubies and when I saw it I just thought...�
�I love it!� She said cutting his sentence off. �Wouldn�t it be perfect if the wedding was on our anniversary.� Jessica squealed. �Yeah, why not?� AJ retorted. �Are you serious? We can really do it Friday!� She delighted, while giving him a huge hug. He slid the perfect fit ring onto her finger and kissed her. �Were going to be together forever.� Jessica said softly as she kissed him again.
