| Chapter 29 What is she doing here? He asked himself quietly as he danced with Sandra. What was that? She asked him. Oh, nothing. He replied back to her. They both stood on the side as Serenity took gulps of the drink she was holding. She had on a dark, tight, mini skirt with tall leather boots. As she finished her drink she locked eyes with AJ and he knew that she had recognized him by the look of surprise on her face. He looked away and moved closer to Sandra as she turned her back to him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her even closer as they danced on the floor. Woah, getting touchy feeley. She said as she leaned the back of her head over his shoulder as they grinded together. After a while she turned around to face him and he put his arms around her neck. She leaned forward and he moved in and kissed her softly on the lips. The tip of his tongue darted into her mouth as their lips kept the rhythm. The kiss lasted for two minutes as Sandra pulled away. Wow, that was nice. She told him smiling. Now, I have to get some water, Im hot. She said as he wrapped is arm around her and they walked back over to the table. They both ordered some water and gulped it fast. Dancing really gets your heart beating. Its good exercise. She told AJ as she sat her glass down. Yeah, I know. I think we all loose like three pounds after every show. He told her smiling. She giggled as she drank the rest of her water. Ill be right back. Have to take a little trip to the girls room. She said as she stood from the table and walked toward the back of the club. AJ sat looking into the crowed when he felt a tap on his back. He turned around to find Serenity standing behind him. Her eyeliner looked as if it had been running and her face a pale. He saw scratches on the side of her face and she looked sick. Her hair looked mattered and she looked even smaller then before. Well arent you going to say hi? She asked with half a grin on her face. As she spoke, the strong stench of alcohol came from her breath. What do you want? He asked, looking up at her. Well I guess I just though Id come over and say hi to an old friend. Is that so bad? Where is Randy? Shouldnt he be lurking around somewhere near? I see he still has you on a diet. What was that whole stunt about? What stunt? Out on the dance floor. You know what Im talking about. Dont try to act dumb all of a sudden. If by that stunt, your speaking of me dancing with my date, it wasnt a stunt. I was just enjoying myself. Sure you were, while trying to rub my nose in it. She said raising her voice a little. So what is this? Your allowed to have your new boyfriend Randy, and Im suppose to stay single forever, pining away for you? I dont think so, not going to happen Serenity. Oh course I dont think your going to be alone forever. I want you to find someone, but I dont rub my relationship in your face. Why dose it bother you so much anyway? Is it because you know now that Im not going to be your stand by guy. Im not going to be waiting in the wings for you when you need someone to help you. No, its because your being a jerk! She yelled. He stood up and looked down at her. Well I think your being a lousy drunk. So why dont you let Randy take you home and sober you up. I hate you! I hate you so much! She said as she pushed him and then hit him hard in the chest as tears started to well up in her eyes. He pushed her back and she caught her balance stopping her fall. You are a crazy chick, you know that? AJ spouted at her. You are a ruthless, selfish, hateful, basterd! Thats what you are, how could I have ever loved someone like you? Your just like him. All of you guys are just alike. The only difference is that you hide it better. Goodbye! She yelled as she turned away. She sucked back her tears before they could fall and she disappeared into the crowed. Something was defiantly up with Serenity. But he didnt go after her because it wasnt his problem. She had Randy and right now he had Sandra. He sat back into his chair and straightened his shirt up. Two minutes later, Sandra appeared and took the seat across from him. For some reason she could tell something had happened while she had been gone. He didnt seem so interested in what she had to say anymore. He looked as if he was in a far off place. When she asked him about it, he told her he didnt feel so well. And so, he drove her home and then he went home himself. Back to his empty house and back to the memories of the girl that hunted his thoughts. |
