Chapter 28

AJ was reluctant, but he still agreed to meet Sandra. Instead of taking her out to dinner, Howie set them up to meet in front of a club.

AJ got there early which was something he usually didnt do. As he came closer to the club he saw a tall women with dark brown hair standing by the entrance. She had on a dark blue dress and her hair was layered. She fit the description Howie had given him of Sandra.

Hello, Sandra? He questioned as he approached her. Yeah, AJ? She asked smiling. Yeah, nice to meet you. He told her as she shook his hand. Her hazel green eyes peered into his as she started to pull her arm back. Well ready to go inside? She asked him. Yeah, sure. He said leading the way.

They took a table in the back of the club and ordered drinks. This is actually my first time here. I use to go out all the time, but I dont go out as often now since Im single. She told him as she looked at her surroundings.

You just broke up with someone to?

Well I wouldnt say just broke up. Me and Roger have been apart for about five months now. So I guess its been a while. We were together for about seven months though. So I guess its just been weird being alone. Im just getting back into being single again. I didnt mean to unload a bunch of baggage on to you though, sorry about that.

No, I understand that completely. Me and my ex-girlfriend have been apart for a year now, and its still weird. Ive just been working a lot.

Yeah, thats right. Youre a Backstreet Boy, so hows everything going for you guys?

Right now were on vacation. So Im just doing stuff at home. I had a little studio built, so Im just writing stuff and just seeing if I can come up with something that might make it on the next album.

Thats cool. Maybe one day I can hear some of it. I write a lot myself. I love music. She told him.

The only person, besides the guys, AJ had ever let listen to his unfinished songs was Serenity. For some reason he didnt really trust anyone else or maybe he just didnt trust himself to be good enough. He hadnt let anyone hear any of his new stuff. Not even the guys had heard it yet. It was just something he had written for himself.

As they continued to talk AJ felt relaxed. Sandra had turned out to be a pretty cool girl. He didnt feel the need to try and separate himself from the date or put up a huge wall between them. He just felt relaxed, like he was talking to an old friend.

It was as though they had known each other for years. The thing about it, was just that though. He felt like they were really close friends and nothing else. There wasnt a really strong attraction between them. But he figured if they continued to date, maybe something more could come. Unlike Serenity, Sandra was a huge fan of the Backstreet Boys and she asked a lot of questions about the group. She told him how she loved their music and had gone to a couple of there concerts. Besides having music and relationship problems in common, they both were raised only by there mothers and both of them wanted to get into acting. They also found out that their birthdays were only a week a part from each other.

After talking for a while and having a second drink they decided to get on the floor and start dancing. After finding that they had so much in common, AJ found that they had one more thing, which was dancing.

The night seemed to fly by quickly as they danced and AJ found himself with his mind completely off of Serenity. Which hadnt happen in a long time. Since they had started talking she hadnt even come into his thoughts once. And just as it seemed hed have one night Serenity free, he spotted her across the room with Randy.
