Chapter 16

The days seemed to fly by and since the incident, Serenity and Randy had become closer. He apologized over and over for what he had done to her. He told her how much he loved her and how much he needed her. She fed into it all and welcomed him back into her heart. She felt she did have a part in the incident.

She had made him very upset and then after he had tried to walk away she had pushed him. She just wanted to put the whole thing behind her and move on with their lives. She pushed the whole thing out of her head and decided it never happened and it was just a big mistake. All of her scratches were gone and the bruise on her cheek had faded fast. It was almost completely gone and just a hint of blue remained.

She decided shed just tell everyone she tripped and fell on the ground. Which was believable enough because everyone knew how clumsy she was.

She had just finished cooking dinner when Randy made it through the door. Hey hon, dinner is ready. Im just finishing the salad. She told him as she stuck her head into the den to see him. Yeah, okay. He said as he slammed his briefcase on to the floor. He unbuckled his belt and fell hard onto the couch.

You okay? She asked looking at him with wondering eyes. I just lost the case. Can you believe that...three months of work gone down the drain. He said as he leaned back.

Oh, Im sorry. She said as she walked over and started to massage his shoulders.

Stop, that doesnt fix anything. He said as he raised up.

I know, Im just trying to make you feel better. Thought that maybe I could help to change your mood. Change that frown into a smile. She smiled warmly as she started to kiss his neck. She continued kissing as she reached around to his mouth and kissed him passionately.

For a minute he went into the kiss and then he suddenly pulled away, pushing her. Serenity I told you already, it cant be fixed! He yelled at her as he stood and walked toward the dinning room. Sorry she said as she rolled her eyes and went into the kitchen. I thought you said dinner was ready. He called from the table. Im finishing up the salad. She yelled back to him.

After 4 minutes had passed Serenity entered the room with a big salad bowl in her hands. She placed it onto the table as she walked back into the kitchen. Then she brought out a huge bowl of pasta and a bottle of wine. The table was already set neatly as she took her seat.

Fettuccini Alfredo again? He spit out looking at the food like it disgust him. I thought it was your favorite? She said looking at him, wondering.

Yeah, but we just had it last Wednesday Serenity. This is a new week, I dont want it again this Wednesday. He looked at the food and then at her. Besides, its not healthy. Pasta makes you fat, dont you know that? You dont want to become a pig do you? You dont want me to become one either do you? He asked in a grumpy voice. Serenity just shook her head as she answered no with each question. They then proceeded to eat their meal in silence.

When they finished, Serenity cleaned the table, washed the dishes and put the left overs away. As she cleaned, Randy went up to their room. After she was done she took out a pint of Ben and Jerrys ice cream and sat on the couch, flipping through channels trying to find something good on TV. When she found a movie, she made herself comfortable and began to watch television as she ate the ice cream. She felt alone and the only time she felt happy now was when she was watching TV or reading a book, lost in some fantasy. After watching an half hour of the movie she slowly dozed off with the ice cream in her hand.
