Chapter 10 So what was that about? Randy asked Serenity as they entered his Jaguar. What? She question softly trying not to upset him. She knew how he could get if he got upset. You know what...that... back there. With your dads friend. What? You mean the hug? I was just saying goodbye to him, I was happy to see he was doing better. Ive told you about insulting me like that before. I cant believe you would just disrespect me like that. Disrespect you? What? Its not like that at all. Me and AJ are old friends, I told you that when I introduced you to him and his friend. Their clients of my dad. And hes known AJs family since forever. His uncle and my dad are really good friends. Yeah Serenity, and I got that. You hadnt seen the guy in a long time, so you gave them hugs. You were at your dads party and it was a happy time, okay. But today you were with your boyfriend in a mall. You dont just go up hugging guys. It wasnt that serious. Me and AJ are just friends. I know that, but the fact is that you dont do things like that in front of your boyfriend. Thats disrespectful to me. He snapped at her. Fine, sorry. She shrugged. She didnt understand Randys temper. He hadnt had a temper before when they had dated. But he had changed...he had changed a lot. She argued with him more then she had ever argued with AJ. She had wanted to get out of the relationship but then she found herself trying to please him. Her father seemed to adore him and since she and her father had been under such good graces she didnt want to mess it up. Somehow she had learned to put her guard down and not be so defensive. She figured maybe she needed to try to just go with the flow like everyone else for a while. She seemed to have so many causes she was fighting for, but when it came down to it none of them seemed to matter all that much when she was alone. It seemed like everything she changed about herself her father loved. After she had broken up with AJ she felt as if she had nothing, and she found herself stuck, not really knowing what to do with her life. So she decided to drop her rebellious nature and give in, and go along with her father. Even though she hated the thought of changing herself for someone else, she hated the thought of being alone even more. So she started working with him and also started to date Randy. After two months she moved in with him. She knew how much her father seemed to love the guy. For some reason his feelings had changed about him and he got along with him great. If she were to leave him now her father would defiantly disapprove. Besides, she didnt really know if she wanted to be alone. Some how she had got it in her head that she needed him. Hed make her a better person, hed make her into the person that she needed to be. The person her father wanted her to be. Since the person she was before didnt work so well, maybe thats exactly what she needed...to be someone new. |
