SITE NOTES
SOME NOTES ABOUT THIS SITE.

The site's crap
We know it is.  We''ve never done a site before, we don't know what we're doing.  HTML is a foreign language.  Perhaps you could teach us HTML and in return we'll teach you Italian or German?  Anyway, it doesn't have to be a good site, it's just a bit of info about us, some pics and hopefully something to amuse or interest you.  For us, the important thing is that it's fun doing it.  Hey - did you know this site has won awards - bet you didn't know that!

Things don't work
We know they don't.  They probably did at some point but we keep messing about and changing things around.  Sometimes we delete pictures from the server but not from the web pages - that's when you get this sort of thing.

Links are broken
We know they are.  Another thing we keep messing about with, sometimes it's our fault for typing the URL incorrectly, other times we delete or rename pages but don't always remember to update all the links.  Then of course there's external links, if those sites move, go down or whatever there's nothing we can do.  We have a link checking programme which we run every so often (like twice so far).

Some pages take a long time to load
Yes they do.  Some pages are quite large - especially those with lots of images on them.  A quick internet connection can help but sometimes when the server is really busy even the fastest connection in the world won't speed things up (we compared an 8mbps against a 56kbps and there wasn't all that much difference).  Other than change servers there's not a lot we can do.  Well, okay, we could make the pages smaller, reduce the resolution on some of the graphics, use thumbnails in place of certain pics, not waffle on so much and waste space, upgrade to a pay site, use more pages, use less images and graphics, and...and...and...But apart from that there's not a lot we can do.

It's all a load of waffle
No it isn't.  Somewhere there's an interesting sentence but we can't remember where it is.  Anyway, it reflects who we are - neither of us shut up talking and can talk for hours about nothing.  Not only that, but in talking for hours we never repeat ourselves.  Not once in all the hours do we repeat ourselves - never, even though we're talking for hours we simply don't repeat ourselves - ever.

Mispelled words and real bad grammer
the sites filled with it, everywere you look;  We're not bothered and appologise if you're one of our english teacher's thats reading this we did learn somethink at school But it wasnt much english?

The code's shagged
We know it is.  When we started the site the only HTML we know was <br> - there's not a lot you can do with that apart from create blank spaces.  Since then we've learned <u> and even really complicated stuff such as </a>.  But no, seriously, I think we've done OK - especially Monika who's a right clever so and so.  Look at that little menu thing - we did that, it's got links in it (and they're not underlined), there's images with links, it follows you about the screen and then there's the resolution detector, the links that open in new windows, the jump links and anchors and more - and that's just on this page...what do you mean - you learned this on your first day at school?

Anyway, we're hardly webmasters (or webmistresses if we're going to be politically correct) and quite often we get something working, fiddle about with it and bingo - it's knackered.  Sometimes we add a bit of new code and it screws up what was already there and sometimes when we're being really unclever we add some new code and screw up everything.

So there you have it.  When you do come across something that's not as it should be please let us know and we'll maybe get round to doing something with it - not necessarily fixing it, probably removing it.  We've found that to be a good way of resolving problems.
IMPORTANT INFO
SOME IMPORTANT NOTES

About The SIte
The site's not meant to be good (see the
notes above).  It's just our little spot on the web, we're not web designers but we're having fun playing about with it which is more important to us than producing a really amazing site.  It's not meant to be anything either and is probably best described as a scrap book.  Please don't expect answers cos there aren't any, you'll go away with more questions than when you arrived - why bother?, couldn't you have done something better?, what's it supposed to be? etc.

Copyright
This is described on the
copyright page but in case you can't be bothered reading that but can be bothered reading this then basically don't copy the pictures or what's not ours.  If you want to know what you can copy see the copyright page.

Photographs and Graphics
The photos are from various sources. The pictures of us are obviously ours but a lot of them have come from other sites and where possible we've included links back to the sites.  Quite a lot of the graphics too have come from sources other than ourselves and likewise links can be found to these sources.  In all cases permission has been granted for us to use them or they are made available for anyone to use.

Wish Lists
Have you ever been to one of those sites which includes a wish list?  Not the wishes of the visitor but of the site owner.  Do people really buy things for complete strangers?  Are they obsessed or something?  These are items on the list of a very attractive person who has her own site - lap top computer, scanner, digital camera (these are the things she really, really wants). the list goes on and includes several expensive itens of clothing, jewelry, gift certificates and more.  Anyway, here's our wish list.

Our own personal island in the sun - nothing less than 1000 acres considered
New cars - 1 each for each day of the week, that's 14 cars and if they're less than $100,000 each we don't want them
Blank cheques - these have to be against on offshore account in which you have at least $1,000,000
A diamond mine - with at least 100 years of exclusive mining rights
A small country of our own - with or without resident population
Planets - if you've got one, we want it
Anything valuable - whatever you've got sent it to us, or sell it and send us the cash
In fact, everything you've got will do.  Sell the lot and send us the proceeds
If you can't run to any of the above then we'll settle for a pizza cos we're both a bit hungry at the moment.
