VOYA uses a variety of staff members to review materials pertinent to young adults. Publications reviewed include audio books, electronic resources, graphic novels and comics, teen paperback series, video reviews, website reviews.

Middle and Junior High School Library Catalog
This catalog gives descriptive information on a wide range of titles. Entries provide complete bibliographic data, price, subject headings, a descriptive annotation, and evaluative reviews when they are available.

The Horn Book Guide

Both print and online versions review and rate hardcover children's and young adult books in a variety categories such as picture books, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and folklore. The use of a rating system and the inclusion of suggested grade levels are beneficial, while the reviews are comprehensive and balanced, including both criticism and praise.
Children's Catalog
This tool is helpful for selection and purchasing because it has listings from review sources and entries that provide complete bibliographic data, price, subject headings, a descriptive annotation, and evaluative quotations from a review when available.

School Library Journal
This source provides hundreds of reviews of new books for children and young adults. Reviews are written by librarians who work with children, educators, and subject specialists. The Book review section is broken into several age categores including preschool to grade 4, grades 5 and up, and adult books for high school students.
