Library Media Specialist Evaluation Instruments
Alabama has put together a Peppe program that provides evaluation tools for all areas of the education system. Their evaluation instrument for the library media specialist is comphrensive. "The information obtained from the self-assessment can be used in three ways: 1) to identify areas for improvement; 2) to compare personal perceptions of performance with results of evaluation by a superordinate; and 3) to assist in developing a professional development plan collaboratively with one's supervisor." They also have numerous other tools such as
excel spreadsheets to collact data from teachers and students.

ADEPT for Library Media Specialists
This program is a state wide evaluation program that examines all areas of education. The library media specialists is not left out. Rather than using a rating system, the forms allow for detailed explanations. The forms include an interview form, reflection, professional performance description, self-report, evaluation summary, and a form for documentation to include evidence found during the observation.
