Djoser has taken the throne of the Egyptian kingdom, which is beginning to thrive after centuries of unification of the Thinite Confederacy, but still there is a lot of work to do. There are still several regions in Egypt not under Egyptian rule, and some of those that are are likely to revolt. The Bedouins are beginning to make their presence felt in the east. The centuries of fighting between the Canaanite tribes has slowly been deceasing with one tribe, the Jebusites, becoming the clear winner. Nubia far to the south is beginning to become powerful and rich, and the Kushites below the first cataract are starting to look for an empire in the north in Egypt. To the northeast, Egyptian relations with the Erech Dynasty of Sumeria are positive, although the powerful tribes which control the cities between are extremely hostile. And far beyond these kingdoms is one known as Elam which is becoming increasingly powerful and has begun to meddle in Sumerian politics. This is no time for rest as trouble is brewing. I warn you, your majesty, not to lavish your court in expensive luxury items from Pwenet. Either conquer or be conquered!

  BACKGROUND
--------------------------------------------------------------

This scenario begins in 2647BC on the coronation of Djoser (Zoser), second king of the third dynasty of Egypt, and ends on the coronation of Khufu (Cheops), the builder of the Great Pyramid in the fifth dynasty of Egypt. This scenario depicts the struggles Egypt faced to maintain its power in its early days, and later shows the struggles to build a world famous empire with many grand monuments, luxuries, thriving cities and powerful armies.

--------------------------------------------------------------
  THE CIVS
--------------------------------------------------------------

The civilisations in this scenario are the: Egyptians, Kushites, Nubians, Bedouins, Jebusites, Erechs and Elamites.

   EGYPTIANS
You have a long, thin empire and are surrounded by enemies. On your first turn, many cities will go into revolt, and this will continuously happen unit you can develop better happiness structures with the research of Temple Complexes and Entertainment Venues. When Memphis finishes the wonder known as 'Beer' (the Hanging Gardens), you should start to get a grip of things. Don't expand too quickly on the first turn, even though it may seem like the right thing to do. You'll get pushed back far, and may even lose Thinis on your first turn if you aren't careful.

   BEDOUINS
You have most of the cities in Sinai, and two more too far away to help with your first turn struggles. If you lose a couple of your cities, you will be compensated with thanks to the events.txt.

   NUBIANS
You are also a civlisation with struggles. Remaining on good terms with the Kushites is essential and can't be stressed enough. But you are in control of the richest city in the world (Pwenet). You also have a ship or two in the Red Sea, which makes you easier to play than the Bedouins. You have to remain dormant for a while before you are strong enough to challenge Kush, Egypt or the Bedouins.

   KUSHITES
Of all the civs, you are in the best position. You have a fairly large powerful army, your cities are generally large and prosperous, and are pretty much safe from invasion. However, like all civs the odds can go against you if are not careful.

   JEBUSITES
You are the civ which will expand the quickest on the first turn, and while you retain Canaan, your military will be given an edge the other civilisations do not have. Overexpanding is going to be your biggest problem as the Bedouins and Egyptians will be quick to strike back.

   ERECHS
You are the largest of all civs, but the most fragile. Like Egypt, revolts will be frequent and can only be toned down with Temple Complexes and Entertainment Venues.

   ELAMITES
You are one of the oldest nations on the earth, and have an enormous cavalry army. But your isolated position prevents you from doing much with it, except for meddling in Sumerian affairs.
