XI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS FINA � MONTR�AL 2005

Montr�al, Jan. 19, 2005 - It is with deep regret that the Organizing Committee for the XI World Championships FINA � Montr�al 2005 has received notification from FINA, following a Bureau meeting today, that the Montreal Championships has been cancelled.

The Organizing Committee always remained confident that it could organize successful Championships in Montreal.

However, the decision from FINA is the result of the various partners not able to come to a compromise on the financing of the Championships.

The Organizing Committee will fully reimburse all ticket holders and will see that an orderly closing of the operations takes place in the next few days.

The Organizing Committee would like to thank all those who took to heart the presentation and success of the Championships, especially the staff who have worked so hard and so diligently to prepare the Championships.
