We are all freaks and geeks in some way or another. We are each of us different, each of us unique. We experience unique thoughts and feelings, and live unique lives.....but there is one thing that binds us as a group. We are not bound by color, sex, age, race, or a shared mindset.
The tie that binds is #Moncton.
It has been in existence for nearly 7 years, and has seen its share of regular members come and go. Somehow, though, people just keep coming back, even if they've been gone for days or months or even years. It's hard to define what it is about #Moncton that attracts and retain IRC users, but one thing is certain...what makes #Moncton great and keeps people coming back over and over again are the very people who join and participate in the channel on a regular basis.
This website will serve as an introduction of the many #Moncton regulars and not-so-regulars...people who consider themselves to be part of #Moncton and who want you, the reader, to get to know them better as a human being. You never know....you may find that you have a lot more in common with someone in #Moncton than you first thought!
So where / what the hell is Moncton, anyway? Moncton is a city populated with approximately 100,000 people, and is located in the Province of New Brunswick, on the east coast of Canada. Approximately half of our population can speak English and French. Moncton is considered a metropolitan city, and it's primary economic sectors are call centres, Tim Horton's (we are the Tim Horton's capital of the world, we'll have you know! *strut*), prostitution and pimping, and drug smuggling. Hey, those goddamn call centres don't pay THAT well, you know. Ya gotta make a living somehow! Just kidding, just kidding!!
Moncton is a pretty good city to live in, actually. It's not too big, but it's not too small, either. It's pretty hip and happening for the Maritimes, honestly. Moncton is bordered on each side by the town of Dieppe (primarily a French-speaking, Acadian community), and the town of Riverview (primarly an English-speaking community), and is strongly influenced by each of those cultures. The rate of crime is low, employment levels are good, and the cost of living isn't that bad either. All in all, it's a good place to raise a family.
