So you wanna become a freak like the rest of us and jump on the #Moncton bandwagon, do ya? It's simpler than you think!

All ya gotta do is download an IRC client, install it, connect to an EFNet server by typing /server name-of-server (some server names are: irc.magic.ca or irc.etsmtl.ca), pick a nickname by typing /nick whatever-you-want (not more than 8 characters, though), and finally, type /join #moncton at the window prompt, and start talkin'.

Where can you download this fantabulous IRC client I just spoke of? The easiest and most-widely used IRC client used today is mIRC, available at http://www.mirc.co.uk/. It's nice and easy for beginners.

A personal favorite of mine is ircN, which is just like mIRC, but a little spiffier. ircN is available at http://www.ircn.org/. Both mIRC and ircN are for use with Windows, as they employ GUI (graphical user interface.....plain english: point and click on the pretty little icons).

There are also other IRC clients available for UNIX and Linux operating systems, such as BitchX or Phoenix, but these are text-based clients, and are best for a more experienced user who is familiar with the mulititude of IRC commands available to them.

We hope you'll join us soon, and become one of us.........one of us.........one of us......one of us...........
