IV: What did Gary Moore mean to you?
Ray: Well empty rooms took the life of a raver killed it and lit a fire that burns bright today
IV: When did you get your first Guitar?
Ray: When I was 8, from a mate it hadn't any strings so I just held it, when I finally got some I thought I was fucking Gary Moore man.
IV: What was the Guitar?
Ray: An Encore classic
IV: When did the bug for the band bite?
Ray: Well before I even had a guitar, but definitly after Noel Gallagher. It was fucking class when I could play Oasis properly.
IV: When did you meet Darren?
Ray: well it was 2000, he introduced me to my current girlfriend. We both liked Oasis
IV: Did you hit it off?
Ray: It was clothes first, we had unusual styles for crumlin, then Music it was Oasis so the music soon took over
IV: So when did the band commence?
Ray: Well I was in stolen youth, (now Repel) and we were short a front man and I sudjested Darren but he never came down and we took on Daily. I think I was something about his girlfriend of the time ask him. So he come to me around December 2001 to start something I was only too happy
IV: How did it start?
Ray: Well Darren and Linzi (his ex) had just broken up and he wanted a new start he was writing lyrics and I thought "Fuck man, I could write cracking tunes to these"
IV: What was the first track?
Ray: It was called Monotone or my monotone life or something like that! I liked the name and we were still looking for a band name so I said "I'll fucking have that" (Mimes a grabbing motion)
IV: Can you Decribe the MonaTone sound?
Ray: Its not Mod/ Rocker/ Heavy or nu-Metal We have a "monatone" sound I guess thats where the name really works, but who the fuck would have thought a fucking "Mod/Rock a Billy" and a "Rocker" could get on so well?
IV: Where have MonaTone been for you?
Ray: Up, Down all around, like were on fucking viagra
IV: Where are MonaTone going?
Ray: to the top, after Angle of the Blue nothing can stop us!

Ray: Gary moore, Noel Gallagher, Joe Perry, Scott Graham, Billy Joe, Paul Daily, Slash, Elton John, Phill Lynott, Steve Harris, Duff McKeegan, Gilby Clarke, Guns 'n' Roses, Jimmi Paige, Colm Shallow, Oasis,Led Zepplin, The Doors, Iron Maiden, Sack, Black Sabbath, Mick O'Loughlin, Kurt Cobain oh yeah and Homer Simpson

Ray: I work my Bollox off and of course my music

Ray: No I've a relativly unique view on life

Ray: Buy a Guitar before a P.C. For our covers, do yourself a favour an buy the orignals! A good song can be found anywhere, but a good band is hard to find....
