Monastic Life is a non-denominational online community for sharing information and communication among those affliated with a (usually) Christian monastery. Subscribers will usually, though not always, be formally affiliated with a monastery, whether as a professed religious, an oblate, or associate. Topics are wide-ranging and include (but are not limited to) monastic life in general and in specifics (worship, work, study, etc.); living a monastically-inspired life outside a monastery; the Church in general; and just about any other topic the members find interesting and worth pursuing. We are often serious and discuss important topics, but we're also a fun-loving group and can go off on tangents that have little to do with monasticism. You may find it helpful to "lurk" and just read posts for a while to get the feel of the community, although you are welcome to jump in at any time.

The mailing list averages around 30 messages a day.
