In Round 2 action, Sydney F.C. started well with goals from David Carney and Ufuk Talay but blew a two goal lead at home to Urawa Red Diamonds.  The Japanese champions came back to earn a 2-2 draw at Aussie Stadium after Sydney goalkeeper Clint Bolton dropped an easy cross in the second half.  Both sides now top the table with four points, one ahead of Indonesian outfit Persik Kediri, who surprisingly beat Shanghai Shenhua 1-0.

Adelaide United kept their campaign alive with a 2-0 win against Dong Tam Long An in Ho Chi Minh city.  Shandong Luneng claimed  top spot in the group after a 2-1 win over Seongnam Chunma.
