Melbourne Victory finished twelve points clear at the top of the A-League, despite their 4-0 loss away to Newcastle.  Adelaide's 3-1 win on the Central Coast clinched them second place while Sydney grabbed the last finals berth with a 1-1 draw in Queensland.  New Zealand defeated Perth 2-0 in Auckland to end the season respectably.  The two-legged semi-finals are as follows:
