Karyo plays Atomic Specialist Doctor Serge Leveque. His roll is small in the movie, but powerful. Leveque is a family man. We learn that early. He is also the emotional center of the crew, and even the mission. His death is a heavy burden on all the crew, especially Joshua Keyes, whom Serge is close with, and Rebecca Childs (Swank), who was partly responsible for his untimely death.
