Monacan's doubles team of Eric Alonzi and Michael Latimer advanced to the the next day's quarterfinals by defeating Jim Wagoner and Bill Monger of Midlothian 10-5 in the first round.
The Chiefs' two singles entries, John Lanier and Alonzi, did not fare as well. Lanier, seeded No. 3 and given a bye in the first-round, was upset 10-8 by Earl Alenton of Midlothian in the quarterfinals. Alonzi fell in the first round, 10-8 to Drew Carroll of James River. |
