Monacan again dominates control of the ball, but this time comes out on top. The Chiefs let the Shyhawks in their half of the field only twice the entire game and goalkeeper Sara Austin never touches the ball. Monacan's first goal of the young season comes courtesy of Kara Polignone on a take from the left side of the field during the first period. The second half sees a cross from Kaylyn Singleton to a waiting Sam Fleming. Monacan has many other oppurtunities but Bird's keeper does an excellent job of keeping the ball out of the net. Laura O'Neill, Erin Adamson, and Kaylyn Singleton combine for over twenty shots between them, but unfortunately none find the back of the net. The Lady Chiefs hope to continue their win streak as they take on Colonial Heights Tuesday in a unique JV Boys/JV Girls double header at home.
