Trailing 7-3 going to the bottom of the 6th, the Chiefs score 1 run in the 6th and 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game. In the bottom of the 7th, with 2 outs and no one on base the Chiefs began the game tying rally. Logan Staib reaches on a single, James Lawrence is hit by a pitch, Mike McCollum drives in the Chiefs 5th run with an RBI single and Ryan Oliver walks to load the bases. Next up to the plate is pinch hitter Jake Tuzzo who is just over two weeks removed from being hit by a line drive over his right eye which required more than 50 stitches. Tuzzo, in only his second pinch hitting appearance of the season, bangs a clutch 2 out, 2 RBI single up the middle driving in the tying runs (Lawrence & McCollum). In the 8th inning, the Chiefs hold off Clover Hills attempt to go ahead, stranding a runner that had reached third base with only one out. That set the stage for Logan Staibs game winning RBI. Bruce Bower led off the 8th with a walk and after an unsuccessful attempt to sacrifice Bower to second base, Flynn Huntley works a walk. There is one out after a force play at third gets Bower. The next batter is Logan Staib who lines the first pitch down the left field line sending Huntley sprinting home with the winning run. Huntley, then Staib are mobbed by their teammates in celebration of the win. Staibs game winning hit capped a big offensive day.
