Down 3-2, Monacan scored three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth for the win. Cook came on in the seventh for save. Rohman, Myers and Jor. Arnold highlighted Monacan's eight-hit attack. Rohman and Myers hit solo home runs. Arnold drove in four big runs with a two-run triple and two-run double. |

Coach Bill Reeves has almost all of his starters back, led by pitchers Alan Moore (5-3, 2.36 ERA, 76 strikeouts) and Bobby Cook (2-3, 2.88). Chiefs gave up four run in the top of the first but settled down to play excellent defense, backing up a strong pitching performance from Duty, who went the distance. Linville turned in several key defensive plays. Next for the Chiefs is arch-rival Midlothian on Thursday. |
