27 at L.C. Bird W 1-0 Loads of action for the JV field hockey team this week. The Lady Chiefs traveled to L.C.Bird on Wednesday to face the Skyhawks for the first time this season. Monacan had great passing and super ball movement all game long. The majority of the game was spent in Skyhawks territory; however scoring against a tough L.C. Bird goalie proved difficult. At the half the score was knotted at 0-0. The action was pretty much the same in the second half until Kelsey Jackson slapped the ball passed the goalie for her first goal of the season and the only score of the game. Both teams played hard but the Lady Chiefs came away with the win, 1-0.
28 L.C. BIRD W 2-0 The Skyhawks traveled to Monacan to play a game that had been rescheduled twice a day after their first meeting. With threatening weather rolling in and the game shortened due to the varsitys double overtime game, Monacan wasted no time grabbing the lead. Early in the first half Ally Carlton put a shot passed the goalie for her third goal of the year, and gave the Lady Chiefs the lead 1-0. With the score still 1-0 in the second half, Carlton capped off the scoring with her second goal of the game and the Lady Chiefs blanked the Skyhawks for a second time, 2-0.
29 at Atlee W 4-1 After sweeping two from L.C.Bird in two days, the Lady Chiefs traveled to Atlee for an out-of-district game. Kelley Deegan added her fourth goal of the year and Katherine Brady scored her first goal of the season to bring the Monacan total to three. After missing time due to an injury, Samm Kucera scored her second goal of the season and the fourth goal of the game. Welcome back Samm! Not happy with a single goal lead, Kelley Deegan added a second goal before halftime. The second half was all defense. Catie Mavilia and the defense chalked up yet another shut-out and the Chiefs won 2-0!

Before the first half was over, Kelley Deegan had scored twice and Alicia Lawrence had scored once for the Lady Chiefs. And the Lady Chiefs weren't finished scoring yet.
