| AT THE BAR-B-Q When they got to the house they could already hear music blaring from the back yard. Brandy: Can you play the music any louder? AJ lowered the music and yelled across the yard. AJ: What? Brandy: Never mind! Howie walked up to Kevin and the girls. Howie: It�s nice to see you girls again! Mandy: You too! Howie: Um� Where�s Amanda? Kevin: She decided not to come. Howie: Oh. Amber could see the hurt and disappointment on his face. So, while the others went off to talk with the guys, she decided to talk with Howie. Amber: Howie. Howie: Yeah? Amber: Do you like Amanda? Howie: Yes. But she won�t even talk to me anymore, and I think that I�m the reason that she didn�t come. Amber: No, she didn�t come because of me. I was the one who set you two up. Howie: And I�m glad that you did! Other wise I just might have missed that great personality of hers that I fell in love with! Amber: Why don�t you ask her out? Howie: I would, but she won�t even come near me so I can ask her. Amber: Well, why don�t you go to our house and ask her, since she�s there alone. Howie: Maybe I should. Bye! Amber: Bye, and good luck! Amanda and Howie� 30 minutes after her friends left to the guy�s Bar-B-Q, Amanda heard someone knocking on the door. When she opened the door she saw Howie standing on the other side. Amanda: What are doing here? Howie: I came to see you. Amanda: Why? Howie: Because�I wanted to ask you to go see a movie with me tomorrow. Amanda: No thank-you Howie, I prefer to stay home. Amanda closed the door, but Howie put his foot in the doorway and blocked the door from totally closing. He then walked into the house and faced Amanda. Howie: Why are you trying to avoid me? Amanda: I�m not trying to avoid you! I just don�t want to go out. Howie: Then why don�t you ever talk to me? Amanda: Look, Howie I don�t want to talk about it, now please go! Amanda then walked away to the kitchen while Howie followed her. Howie: No, I won�t go until you tell me why� Amanda: Tell you why, what? � Tell you why, what Howie! She yelled. Howie: Tell me why you are ashamed that I was picked to go out with you by your friend! Amanda�s eyes then popped out of her head. Amanda: AJ told you? Howie: Yes, he did! Amanda: (quietly) How could he? Amanda walked over to the phone that was in the living room. |
