| Chapter 20 |
| As Stacy looked at his wound Christians mind had wondered off into his thoughts. All Ive done for her is bring her grief and shes still here. Shes caring for me. Shes making the fire to keep us warm, and the food for us to eat. Im here doing nothing and shes still doing it all, not worrying about it. Only worrying about me. When Stacy was done cleaning Christians wound, she stood up to get more wood. When she quickly left the cave Christian got up and walked over to the bush just outside the cave. He started to pick off some of the edible berries so they would have more berries in he cave added to the ones they already had. Stacy was on her way back when she saw Christian at the bush. She ran up to him and hugged him to keep him warm since he was shivering from the cold. What are you doing? She asked worriedly. I I was picking some berries for us to eat. Christian said with his teeth chattering. We already have some berries picked. Enough for us to last until tomorrow morning. She helped Christian up and they together walked back into the cave. Christian sat down against the cave wall. You know that we have enough, tell me why you really were out there. Stacy said looking at him expectantly. Christian sighed heavily. I just feel useless. I wanted to help you out with something since all youve been doing was do things for me as well as for you. He said sadly. Stacy kneeled next to him and held his hand. Look, if you dont get rest you wont be able to help me with anything. You need to get better so we can get out of here. She said. Ok, but where are we going to go? Asked Christian. I was thinking that we could somehow go to Earth. I dont think they would come after us there, they probably would eventually think were dead since they wont find us if we leave. Stacy explained. |
