The controversy over Haruka and Michiru's relationship is ongoing. The original television series in Japan introduces them as lovers, but they're portrayed as best friends in the American dub. Living in America has left me without much access to the accurate Japanese version of how things go down between these two. I don't support the warping of the relationship, but I don't have adequate information on the Japanese version to put anything up here.
