The conifer before the trimming..................And
after the trim
Chamaecyparis
lawsoniana allumii
-Conifer
This is the latest of plants to find itself in my
care. I picked it up in front of a supermarket at a great price. Its the
first plant that I'm going to start with already grown (my guess would
be that it is maybe one or two years old).
The strict description on the tag follows: "A narrowly conical
conifer with flattened, upright sprays of soft, blue-grey foliage.
As my books contain some information on the genus Chamaecyparis and
the tag has helpful hints on the plants needs, I feel confident that I
can start shaping this tree now and keep a well informed diary of my
progress.
As yet, I feel that I will train it to be a formal upright as in nature
the tree itself is fairly straight.
I'll keep you informed!

Above I have added a picture, taken today of my new
bonsai. It has lost a lot of foliage but will make a good shape in the
next few years...

I have begun work on this plant. As yet I have pruned
the branches and begun to shape it. As I cut off some large sections, I
have tried to use this for cuttings. The small tree itself, looks a
little sorry for itself, but within a few years it should look great!
