Gianne is my best friend of almost 10 years. We've been in the same class since Form 3 when we studied in St. Mary's Canossian College. We're destined to be best friends. We had similar interests in science subjects and computer programming, so we went in the same science class in Form 4 & 5. She used to live near school, then one day she moved so that we took MTR home everyday, we chatted a lot and became good friends since then.
The day when our certificate examination results were issued, we knew that we have to part. Both of us didn't get into one of the 32 places of the only Form 6 science class, because we didn't have 6, 7 or 8 As! We desperately looked for schools, and I was finally admitted to Sacred Heart Canossian College. How happy I was when I knew later that Gianne also got into the school! And did I mention the same class too?
As a pair of friends coming from the same old school and same old class, we stayed together when we went to a new school. Our mutual support made us feel easy in a new environment. We sat together in every class we had, we went home together everyday. I don't think I need to tell that we got closer and closer. After Form 7, we truly had to part. We chose different majors and went to different universities. We didn't see each other everyday, but our friendship didn't weaken.
Gianne is a pretty girl. She's smart, independent and tough too. Due to our different backgrounds, we always have different thoughts. It didn't mean we have a lot of argue though. As a matter of fact, we hardly ever argued. It's because we give each other a lot of respect, we understand that everyone is a different individual. We asked for advice from each other when we have problems, she sees something I don't and I see something that she doesn't. We always have something to take from each other because we are different. It strengthens the bond between us.
Through these years, I changed a lot, and Gianne too. We give each other the best we have, and it makes us a better person everyday.
