It's a big day for me. I've finally handed in my honor project which have spent me almost a year to finish! I wasn't too excited, and in fact am still worrying whether I've missed something. I'm so hysteric when it comes to big project and writing English coz I almost can't tolerate any mistake.
I treated myself a coffee after handing in the project today, Mint Mocha Frappaccino! Quite good but was too sweet! I also got myself a ticket of the movie "Rouge", which is one of the featuring films in "Leslie Legacy". I'm going with Gianne on Sunday evening! The movie was made in 1987, 15 years ago! I remember I watched it with my parents in theater then, but completely forgot the scenes. I only have the plot in my mind now. Really looking forward to watching it again. I was just talking with Gianne, saying that time really flies, 15 years are gone already!! Yeah, time flies, Leslie is gone for a month already, I still miss him, and always will.
I'm finally freed from my project today, and there're important ones in my mind that I have to thank for. Without them, this project would never be such a success. I would like to take this chance to thank them, and this is why I'm writing today. I put my acknowledgement in my thesis, but this is not enough. I would like everyone to see how thankful I'm to have their support, to have them in my life...
My Acknowledgement
I would first like to thank my supervisor, Dr.
Zhong-zhen Zhao, for assigning this topic to me. This was a very challenging
topic due to the complexity of the Bo Ying Compound formula, yet it allowed
me to brainstorm a lot and the flexibility of this topic has given me a lot
of space to elaborate my own ideas and bring out questions. As a beginner in
the researching field, I had little knowledge of how to implement the ideas
on my project. Fortunately, Dr. Zhao has given a lot of guidance, brainstormed
with me and helped me to improve and utilize my ideas. It has been a really
inspiring experience and I believe it helped a lot consolidating my foundation
on researching.
I would also like to thank Ms. Hui-juan Liu for her guidance on experimental skills so this novice in microscopic identification could finish the experiment successfully. Her patience in teaching, her assistance in examining specimen helped me to build the confidence and skills on experimenting from a zero.
Miss
Lily Zhang, Mr. Yong Peng, Mr. Tony Cheung and Miss Ya-ni Hu
have all helped great deal in this thesis as in giving useful advices, sharing
information, getting sample specimens and assisting the use of facilities in
the laboratory. I would like to thank them for their help, generosity and kindness.
Last
but not least, I would like to thank my family, friends and colleagues, especially
my
parents, Paul, Aileen, Annie and Gary
for their endless support and help. Their constant concern encouraged
and enabled me to have done this job to the best.
