Moms know the secret
I am a mom. I have
magical powers. I know the secrets of life and liberty. I know what pure joy is. I know what pure terror is. I know the difference between fair and unfair and I didn't need a law degree to learn about it. I know what trust is and what it means to be trusted. I am one of a kind and every mom knows who I am. Moms have feelings. Feelings can change the world faster than a cat can wink its eye. This mom and every other mom who wants to change the world to make it a better place is welcomed to share their feelings and make it happen. This is a magical place. This is a grand gathering of moms. There is magic in this air.

I celebrated the 4th of July, 2005, writing this web page.

Yahoo wizard helped (a lot) but nonetheless I feel liberated and that is what the 4th of July is all about. I also did something else I felt was very appropriate for the 4th. I e-mailed my Congressperson the orignial 10 Bill of Rights. I changed the words "Amendments" to "Rights and submitted the Bill to be signed into law.

In 1791 America's Bill of Rights were ratified. I am not so sure ratification qualifies as a law. I am sure given recent Supreme Court decisions, 2000 presidential election, Conneticut decision on eminent domain, and the original ruling on eminent domain by chief Justice, John Marshall in 1833 in Barron v Baltimore, that our Bill of Rights were never put into effect. John Marshall was not shy about expressing his distain and hatred of the idea of a democracy. He called it mobocracy. The opportunity to diminish the Bill of Rights into a Bill of Attainder presented itself in Barron v Baltimore. He single handedly turned over all our Rights as citizens of the United States to individual States. Thereby incorporating for the first time the verbage "Rights" of a State. States "Rights" are not mentioned anywhere in the Constitution. States had powers and were denied certain powers, but never were they ever granted any Rights.

For 172 years we have been living under the illusion that we have Rights. Every congressional representatives takes an oath of office swearing to uphold, defend and protect our Bill of Rights.

I need to know where Congress really stands on my Rights. Because of recent decisions by the Supreme Court I am having some doubt as to what their idea of what my rights are. My idea of rights is that they are absolute and unconditional. So to set the records straight I do not think it is unreasonable to ask Congress to officially once and for all sign the original Bill of Rights into law. The 11th through 27th Amendments can remain Amendments.

To get the ball rolling here as a our first official declaration of momism I would like to recommend that every mom send a copy of the Bill of Rights to their U.S. Senators and ask them to sign it into law. Thereby establishing once and for all the Rights of all people to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

You can get a copy of the Bill of Rights at http://www.law.cornell.edu/
constitution/constitution.bill ofrights.html. I did not like the idea of our rights as an afterthought. So I changed the word "Amendment" to Rights.

I will make your responses available as soon as I learn how to do that. In the mean time I can be reached at my e-mail address. Thank you moms and welcome.
