| Monthly business meetings- We meet the second Tuesday of each month to discuss and vote on (if necessary) any new business items and to update members on new things happening with the club. This time is also used to catch up with moms we haven't seen in awhile all while our children are playing safely in rooms equipped with age appropriate toys. This time also gives us the opportunity to meet with perspective members and to welcome new members to the club. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Playgroups- Playgroups are a great way for our children to meet with friends while playing in a warm and comfortable environment at a members home during the cold winter months, or outside during the warmer months at a local park. We also meet at playareas inside malls and other recreational facilities in our area. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| Craft Days- Move over Martha Stewart... Here come our talented budding young crafters!!! (Perhaps with a little help from mom of course). We get together for some crafting and conversation a few times a month and make anything from paper turkeys at Thanksgiving to make-your-own playdough (I hear it's edible if you dare!) You'd be amazed at how creative (and messy) your little ones can be. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| Moms Nite Out- "Calgon take me away!!!" You deserve a night off from all of your hard work. Once a month we get together at night to relax and enjoy a little time away. It may be dinner at a restaurant, out to see the latest hit at the box office, a recipe exchange at a members house or any number of different activities. Each month is something new and different and we hope that you will join us. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Outings- What would our club be without outings to visit the local sites of interest? With all that we do there is sure to be something for everyone. If not, let us know and we will do it. Do you like animals? Then join us at the Akron Zoo, the Cleveland Zoo and Rainforest or the Naturealm. Like museums? We visit places like Inventure Place and the Cleveland Children's Museum. And who can resist food? We've gone on tours of Cold Stone Creamery and Auntie Anne's Pretzels and plan on touring a local pizza joint and candy factory. Yum!! After doing all that, how could you pass up a hayride, picking out your own pumpkins and apples in the Fall while the leaves are changing colors. This is just the short list of the many outings that the MOMS Club of Copley/ Fairlawn enjoy! | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Social Events- Gotta celebrate all those holidays with a little food, fun and music. We'll have some snacks, play games, make crafts and enjoy each other's company. You should have seen those kids rolling pumpkins during the Family Halloween Party we had this year! And the costumes were all wonderful. I bet you can't wait until next year to see all the children dressed up as their favorite monster! | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Service projects- Our club wants to do what we can to help out others in our community. We do this with several on-going projects such as collecting pop can tabs to benefit dialysis patients at Akron Children's Hospital and collecting Box Tops for Education to benefit St. Jude's Ranch for Children. This past year we also adopted a family through the Salvation Army's Create-a-Christmas program. We were able to provide a family with food and presents during the holiday season. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Sunshine- Everyone needs a little extra help sometime whether it be during the excitement of a pregnancy and new baby or during times of hardship such as illness, surgery or death of a loved one. The Sunshine Committee is here to help by arranging for a Big Sis to keep in contact with you and also by organizing meals to be delivered by fellow MOMS. Help can also be by someone simply running to the store for medicine when your child is ill and you are homebound. If you need help, sunshine is here for you. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| This is just a small list of the types of activities that our club participates in. We welcome any new ideas and would like to expand our activities to include such things as walking club, cooking club, scrapbooking club, book club etc.. as members interests dictate. If you are interested in starting something up, we welcome your ideas and will provide the support you need to get started. |
