Special Interest Groups and activities
Tribal Batch Cooking The host of the month picks a recipe or meal and opens up her home for other moms to gather together and cook a big batch of food while the children play.  Examples of past meals include: chicken pot pie, chili and corn bread, quiches, kabobs and salad, chicken enchilada casseroles and many others.  Moms enjoy socialization while cooking, children get to play and you leave with a freshly made meal for dinner!
Diet and Exercise Group Moms and kids meet up to play at a hosts home.  Moms discuss diet, exercise and healthy lifestyles.  We ask that someone bring a healthy snack or recipe to share with the group.  Often in the winter we will meet up at a local mall and do a brisk stroller walk.
Book Club - A book is chosen for membrs to read.  We meet periodically at a specified date and location to discuss the characters and plot of the book.  Reading the book is optional and anyone can join in the discussion.
Breastfeeding Support Group A great place to come and discuss parenting and breastfeeding issues and to provide support to others in need.  Pregnant mothers are encouraged to participate!  Our local La Leche League leaders bring us a nice selection of books that they lend out on a monthly basis and have a variety of interesting topics for us to discuss.  Older children are welcome to attend and many come to play.     Please email us and we will direct you to the meeting site.
Biking Club Moms and kids join together and ride bikes, tag along in strollers, ride in wagons, and enjoy the nice weather.  We meet at local parks and bike trails in the spring and summer months.
HOOTS & HOWLS (stands for Husbands Out Of Town and Husbands Out Working Late Shifts)  Often the evening hours are long for those who have husbands or significant others that work out of town, attend evening classes or work an evening shift at their job.   HOOTS and HOWL moms and our children meet up and have some fun and dinner together.  Past outings have included: Pizza and play party, bring your own bagged supper and indoor play with snacks at a local mall.  This event may be held in a public place or a hosts home.  Anyone needing a night out may attend.
Discussion Group Each month a topic is chosen to discuss.  Moms meet up at a hosts home, enjoy snacks and talk about topics relating to motherhood or feminism or something with a bit of controversy.
Family Camping: Again coming back by popular demand for the summer of 2007!  For 5 years running we've had fun camping family style with Yogi Bear at Jellystone Park in Sturbridge.  The campground is geared towards young children and they have a slew of activities to keep any aged child busy!  Since many families are new to campng, we rent out a row of cabins for a more home-like atmosphere.

Join us for a long weekend and enjoy some of the amenities that the campground offers:  2 pools, waterslide, playgrounds, stocked lake for fishing, hayrides, mini-golf, petting zoo, cartoons in the morning, crafts, paddleboats and canoe rentals, pony rides, and nightly entertainment on the patio.
