NO PEANUT POLICY
1. Recent advice from pediatricians is that, due to the severity of this allergy, children under three years of age should not eat peanuts;
2. We have children in our club with a severe, life-threatening allergy to peanuts.
If you are having smaller gatherings (i.e. playgroup) and everyone in attendance agrees, then you may serve peanut products. BUT for our large group gatherings where we have food, please do not bring any peanut products! Remember to check the labels because foods you may not have thought to contain peanuts could be manufactured with peanut oil or could contain traces of peanuts.
Also, baked goods purchased in a store or made at someone�s house are not necessarily safe. The experts say that 1/5000 of a teaspoon can cause a life-threatening reactions, because the last thing made in that mixer or pan might have been made with a peanut product, and would then be dangerous for someone with a peanut allergy.
