Our Chapter of the MOMS club was started in February of 2005 when we sistered from the Mt. Laurel chapter. We are always looking for new members so if you are home during any part of any weekday you are free to join us. Members are free to come to as many or as few activities as they want. We offer support and activities for moms and children of all ages. You don't have to leave the MOMS Club when your children enter school.
Our current activities include:
Walks and or park-days- We usually have a walk or park-day once a week during the nice weather. Moms take turns hosting and thus we go to different locations each week.
Play-groups-Play-groups consist of 4-6 moms and are set-up according to the age of the children. Playgroups schedule their
meetings according to when everyone is available to meet. Usually weekly or bi-weekly.
Moms Night Out- once a month we meet for dinner, a movie, etc. so the moms can socialize without the kids.
Holiday Parties- We are planning a Halloween, Thanksgiving and New Year's party. They are potlucks and other family members are invited to join us. We have food, games and activities for the kids.
General Meeting- We have a business meeting monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10a.m. We discuss expenditures, plan parties and other activities, invite speakers or just have discusssion groups. Anyone is free to attend this meeting.
Newsletter- We publish a newsletter via email once per month. It includes facts about our group, upcoming activities, interesting info about the members, recipes, poems, ads, etc.
Service project-Each year we do a service project to benefit local Moms and children in our area. Last year we held a consignment sale and the proceeds were donated to Providence House Battered Women's Shelter. We also do such things as visit Nursing Homes for the holidays.
Sunshine Helping Hands- One of the ways we provide support to Moms is helping during times of upheaval or stress. If you are ill, have had a death in the family, recently welcomed a new baby etc. the moms will bring you meals, help babysit your children, shop for you, call to cheer you up etc.
