So, What is the MOMS Club® anyway?
International History

MOMS Club® was founded in the fall of 1983 by Mary B. James.  The first chapter was in Simi Valley, California.  Word spread quickly and we became a national organization in 1985 and international in 1996.  There are now over 2,000 MOMS Club® Chapters.

Our History

We sistered from Northwest Wayne County chapter in April of 2002.  In MOMS Club® of Livonia, we started with 18 members and grew to be over 45 members.  We sistered, yet again, from MOMS Club® of Livonia to three separate groups:  MOMS Club® Livonia-S/Plymouth, MOMS Club® Livonia-N, MOMS Club® Garden City/Redford.

Service Projects

As a non-profit group we do service projects throughout the year.  Before sistering we had collected Toys for Tots and household goods for First Step, a battered women's shelter.  During the year we also collect pantry items for the church pantry (where we meet) and collect coupons to send to service personnel working over seas.
Recently, our group provided baked goods for our local post offices,
police stations, and fire stations, as a  'Thank You' on the anniversary of 9/11.
For Christmas of 2003, we adopted a family through Volunteers of America.  Our group provided a food basket as well as clothes and toys for the family.
