I am honored to call
the poetess who wrote this poem my dear friend. She is wonderfully talented
and gifted at being able to put into words what so many women feel after
they have lost their angels.
Feathers
on the Wind
by Gwen Flowers
my hopes and dreams
Like feathers on the wind,
Scattered, floating,
none left to attend
This broken heart,
this vacant, hollow womb.
Dismantled plans
Locked in a silent tomb.
Plans and preparations
we had made.
With confidence and innocence,
We prayed.
Hopes and plans for the blessing
god would send
Now swept away
like feathers on the wind.
