A new beginning
On December 14, 2001 at 6:05am Gage became a big brother! MacKenzie Leigh Peterson was born after a long, hard, scary pregnancy. She weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs 1 1/2 oz and was 19 inches long. She was born 3 weeks early, and I almost lost her at 32 weeks when my water started leaking and I dilated 3 cm. Also as I mentioned before early in my pregnancy I went through the same bleeding as with Gage. My doctor this time was AWESOME and ran a lot of tests and discovered my body doesn't produce progesterone, so I began a 10 week ritual of prog. shots 2 times a day in the hip. My doctor thinks that this could have saved my Gage, but we'll never know for sure. It scares me so much to think how close I came to losing my daughter! But thanks to the Grace of God she held on tight and stayed with her mommy. I like to think she had an Angel with her, an Angel named Gage. |
