Our Goodbyes
After we were all done, we gathered our coats and bags, and headed out the door.  Vincent asked where we were going and I mentioned walking back over to Lincoln Center and he said he would walk us over there.  At one point we passed a Reebok Fitness Center which he says he "throws" money at each month (as well as one at home) and he hasn't been there for 3 months.  I told him that Melissa (CoVINCEdinNC) had gotten me started with Pilates and he mentioned that Avalon has been wanting to treat him to a Pilates session.

He also told us about his earlier days when he was Off-Broadway and while performing you also had jobs to do.  He used to do lighting for Richard Belzer's comedy show and ?Brother Theodore.  As we arrived in front of the opera house, I asked if he would mind us getting a shot of each of us individually with him.  He was more than willing, and then Valerie asked about her autographs she wanted to get.  (She had trekked all these books, and loot from Texas to get signed and she was NOT going to go home with it not signed)  He was good natured about signing the things for her but I am quite sure we made him late for his bus.  Valerie did have a book she was going to give him, but he said he would just sign it for her since he was behind in all his reading and would never get to it.  The book was about the Astro/Met 1986 last World Series Game.  Valerie told him she had been at the game, and he revealed he had been there also as a guest of Roger McDowell?  The pitcher was RYAN O'NEAL.  NOW I know not alot of baseball, but I KNEW Ryan O'Neal was an actor, not a pitcher, and KNEW he was talking about Nolan Ryan.  I was just dying of laughter.  He really has a knack for names, doesn't he??

And we said our goodbyes, gave him hugs, and he was off running to catch his bus.  We stood in LIncoln Center for a while, just sort of taking it all in before we started to walk over to Central Park West.  I was in quite a happy spirited mood on our walk over.  As we walked up Columbus, I happened to catch Jack Ford's eyes (NBC news,  I think he is on ABC now?)  I smiled hugely at him, and he smiled right back at me.   What a debonair man!!  He is a man who wears grey hair well!
We headed back to our hotel and literally crashed.  We were both so tired from lack of sleep, emotions, and everything and wound up talking until 9:00 when we realized we should check out the Cyber Cafe that Mona had told us about.  I still think that nite I got a total of about 2 hours of sleep.  An infusion of Vincent sure can keep you charged up!!!
The Day After
The next day we packed up and were going to catch lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, because Val just had to see their Beatles memorabilia.  I ate very little, feeling like I had a hangover from lack of sleep.  On our walk over to the cafe, my camera some how kept landing on these 2 words:
OR
After our lunch we walked back to our car, and set out to have a "quick" visit in NJ with Sunny (Sandy Wetzel) who was partly responsible for the auction, and the reason we had had such a wonderful trip.  Our visit somehow turned into dinner, and us staying for 6 1/2 hours.  SORRY Sunny, we never meant to impose so long, but THANK YOU for your kindness and hospitality.  Sunny showed us all of her photo books, and of course we had plenty of stories to share.
Thank you
