Winter Storm of 1/4/06
The storm hit around 4:00 PM. I categorized the storm as a moderately-weak storm because it had light rain. The rainfall and snowfall occured mostly in the mountains. The instability of the storm brought us some rain near the mountains such as the inland valleys. The areas that got rain got less than 1/6 inch. The cold front of solid rain died out quickly in central California. Once the storm's cold front moved in, the front was too weak to produce any solid rain. Most rainfall happened in the form as light showers. Most of the snowfall happened in the Los Angeles County mountains and the southern tip mountains of Ventura mountain. Those areas got less than 4 inches of fresh, new snow.
