Winter Storm of December 12/16/2006
Storm Strength: Moderate
This winter storm brought most of us about 0.5-1 inch of rainfall. This was an extremely cold system bringing Southern California highs in the upper 50's. It also dumped some 3-8 inches of snow depending on where you lived. Ocassionally, heavy rain would fall. The main steady rainfall lasted only about 4-7 hours at the evening. There were few thunderstorms associated with this cold Pacific storm.  At first, I forecasted the storm to be moderately-strong, but there was no widespread heavy rain. I downgraded the category to moderate. Accompanied by this storm was strong large waves.
