Thunderstorms are possible throughout Southern California but the best chance exists in the Inland Empire. Mid level moisture at aroind 15,000-20,000 feet allows for good thunderstorms to form. Thunderstorms may indeed bring a light show this evening. The best chance will be in the afternoon, around 4-6 o' clock. Models show that the is even a slight chance of weak tornadoes or funnel clouds. The easterly wave will hit the area between noon and midnight. Be careful out there as thunderstorms may form any second and bring lighting with heavy rain. Becuase low levels of the atmosphere is fairly dry, rain will evaporate before it hits the ground, known scientifically as Virga. Lightning and gusty winds will be my highest concern. Winds may rain from 20-60 mph. Thundertorms are unpredictable. |
